Delete your Globora account
You can delete your account from the app or the website, or ask us by email if you can't sign in. It's deleted 30 days after you ask, and you can change your mind until then. We email you when you ask and again when it's done. To step away from one trip without deleting your account, leave it from the trip's Travellers page.
In the app
- Open Globora and sign in.
- Go to Profile and choose Delete account.
- Enter your password to confirm.
The app shows you the date your account will be deleted.
On the website
- Sign in at europe.shaperk.com.
- Open My traveller profile.
- At the bottom of the page, choose Delete my account.
- Read through the steps, type DELETE and choose Request deletion.
If you can't sign in
If you've only forgotten your password, you can reset it and use the steps above.
Otherwise, email support@shaperk.com from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my Globora account". If you no longer have that mailbox, tell us the address and we'll ask you for something to show that the account is yours. Don't send a copy of your passport.
We'll reply within one month, and tell you the date your account will be deleted.
The 30 days
Your account stays as it is for 30 days, in case you change your mind. You can still sign in, and anything you share with your trips stays shared. To cancel, sign in and choose Keep my account. We stop sending you trip emails during this time.
What's deleted
- Your account, your sign-in on all devices, and any password reset requests
- Your traveller profile: personal details, passport and visa details, loyalty numbers, emergency contacts, health and insurance details, and preferences
- Your profile photo and your passport and visa copies
- Your travel map marks and email preferences
- Every trip you own where nobody else has a linked account, with its tickets, expenses and everything else on it, even if you added other names to it for splitting costs
What's kept
A shared trip belongs to the whole group, so it isn't deleted when one person leaves:
- Shared trips you own stay, and pass to the next traveller with a linked account, who becomes the owner.
- Your name stays on the traveller list of each shared trip, so that the group's expenses and balances still add up. It's no longer linked to you, and your email address is removed from it.
- What you added to a shared trip stays for the group: bookings, uploaded tickets, activities, notes, expenses and settlements. If you want something removed first, delete it yourself before your account goes, or ask the trip's owner.
Some copies last a little longer:
- Backups of our database and files can hold your data for about two more weeks, until they're overwritten.
- Web server logs, which record IP addresses and pages requested, are deleted after about 14 days.
- Emails we've already sent you, and anything you've already shared with others, such as a calendar link, are outside what we can delete.
- The copy on your phone stays until you sign out or uninstall the app. Other travellers' phones can hold copies of shared trips.
- We keep anything else only where the law requires it. We'll tell you if that applies.
Deleting only some of your data
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove something. Once signed in, you can:
- clear any field on your profile, or remove your passport copy, visa copies and photo;
- turn off sharing your emergency details;
- delete a trip you own;
- remove a booking, ticket, expense or note from a trip.
